  • MBBS- Trivandrum Medical College in 1975
  • Post Graduated in Medicine from CMC Hospital Ludhiana
  • Specialized in Nephrology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science, Chandigarh under the guidance of the most popular and dynamic Nephrology teacher Prof.Kripal Singh Chugh.
  • Worked as Consultant in Nephrology at Medical Trust Hospital for 17 years.
  • Popularized early detection of chronic kidney diseases in mid Kerala, did the first kidney transplantation, First and maximum number Cadaver Transplantations.
  • Early detection of Leptospirosis and prevention and complications of Multi Organ Dysfunction (MOD) was popularized through IMA. peripheral doctors and among the public, by which mortality was brought down.
  • In 2001 Dr.Georgy.K.Nainan along with his Nephro-Uro team restarted at PVS Memorial Hospital where Laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and kidney transplantation was introduced by the team.
  • In the last 13 years more than 325 kidney transplantations (total of more than 1000 since 1987) was done including 4 Cadaver kidney transplantation.
  • Prime mover of a Society for Organ Retrieval & Transplantation (SORT), the only active society in Kerala, encourages the donation of organs after brain death.
  • An active member of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and was Vice President and Chairman of the Scientific Committee for several years.
  • Member of various National and International Societies and attends National and International conference.
  • In 2005 December he organized the 36th National conference of the Indian Society of Nephrology (ISNCON) at The Convention Centre, Cochin which was the best organized, well attended and maximum number of paper presentations.
  • President of Cochin Kidney Foundation (CKF)
  • Was awarded the Fellow of the Indian Society of Nephrology (FISN) in 2004 for his contribution to the growth and development of Nephrology in India and FRCP (Glaxgow) was conferred in 2010 for his contributions in Nephrology.
